Dedicated NEC distributor Sunrise Electronics is now helping customers to design with the latest 0.25-micron CMOS-10HD family of CMOS gate array products, from NEC, which offer the highest speeds of operation in the market together with a 40% power reduction compared with the previous CMOS-9HD generation.

The CMOS-10HD family halves development costs and reduces power consumption by 40% to 0.042uW/MHz/gate (operating efficiency of 30%) compared to NEC's previous gate array products.

Introducing a low voltage interface buffer as standard, previously only seen in cell base ICs, the new gate arrays also offer low voltage operation.

With high-speed operation up to 133MHz at 2.5V these gate arrays are the world's fastest.

The efficient circuit layout of NEC's 0.25-micron CMOS-10HD gate arrays and the availability of enhanced circuit layout tools help to minimise development lead times.

The family offers an industry-leading line-up of 11 masters, with gate counts from 58,000 to 2.6M, as well as comprehensive packaging options that include QFP, TQFP, FPBGA, PBGA, TBGA and others.

The CMOS-10HD family also offers a high number of signal pins in a small circuit size and footprint, meeting the demands of applications such as broadband network solutions.

The CMOS-10HD is a pure gate array with a low NRE, high rework ability, low power consumption, simpler development and shorter lead times in design.

It is highly suitable for applications in broadband communications and networks, as well as a variety of consumer products.

Design in support is available now from Sunrise and CMOS-10HD arrays will ship from Q2 2001.
