Sunrise Electronics has just added a new 10.4in Super VGA module to its extensive range of colour LCD panels for industrial applications and the instrumentation markets, featuring the latest SFT technology from NEC giving super high brightness and wide viewing angles.

NEC's new 10.4in NL8060BC26-27 is a Super VGA panel that gives 800 x 600 pixel resolution and can display up to 256K colours simultaneously.

It uses a new type of cold cathode fluorescent lamps to provide edge lit backlighting with a high brightness of up to 400cd/m2 and very long life.

This feature is particularly important to displays used in industrial settings where lighting may be different from a typical office environment.

The panel also features a wide viewing angle of up to 85 degrees from the normal, both side to side and in the vertical plane.

Response time of the NL8060BC26-27 is fast with a typical 15ms rise time (50ms for a full cycle) and a high contrast ratio of 500:1 makes it suitable for a wide range of applications such as industrial PC, display terminals for control systems and monitors in process control.

It accepts industry standard 6bit digital RGB signals plus sync and clock inputs.

This new model is electrically and mechanically compatible with the earlier -17 model.

Sunrise can provide full design in support.

Sunrise has an extensive offering of NEC active-matrix thin film technology (TFT) flat panel displays, ranging from 5.5 to 20.1in LCD panels.

These products address a wide range of markets - including mobile computing, desktop CRT replacement, factory automation, financial trading terminals, medical instrumentation, information displays and kiosks as well as in-flight entertainment and multimedia projection systems.
