VGA LCD module uses super-fine TFT technology
Sunrise Electronics will shortly begin shipping samples of a new 8.4in VGA TFT LCD module based on NEC's proprietary ultra-advanced super-fine TFT technology.
Adding to its successful line of LCD panels from NEC, Sunrise Electronics will shortly begin shipping samples of a new 8.4in VGA TFT LCD module based on NEC's proprietary ultra-advanced super-fine TFT (UA-SFT) technology, which enables ultrawide viewing angles, high luminance, a wide colour gamut and high contrast ratio.
Known as the NL6448BC26-08D this new module has several critical new features.
It offers a high luminance of 400cd/m2 and a wide colour gamut of 72%, equivalent to that of a cathode-ray tube (CRT).
This is achieved by the use of NEC's unique UA-SFT technology, which boasts improved panel transmissivity.
As a result this LCD module achieves accurate reproduction of clear and vivid colour images even in bright environments.
UA-SFT technology also enables an ultra-wide viewing angle of 170 degrees (with a contrast ratio greater than 10:1) and reduces the colour and/or contrast shift that can result from a change in viewing angle.
The display is capable of operating in either portrait or landscape modes thus affording greater flexibility in viewing positions, installation locations and display usage.
Finally its wide operating temperature range, from -10 to +70C, guarantees operation in even the most extreme conditions.
NEC developed this 8.4in VGA TFT LCD module in response to the increasing demand by customers in a variety of industrial applications for more cost efficient UA-SFT-based LCDs.
This new VGA LCD features an equivalent brightness level and added energy savings of approximately 45% compared with the XGA model.
Moreover, the difference between XGA and VGA means that the new module is available at a lower cost, and its possible areas of use have been broadened due to an expanded operating temperature.
