V850E/Sx3Ha range on display at Embedded World

A Gleichmann-Sunrise product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Feb 19, 2009

Gleichmann-Sunrise will present the first nine MCUs of NEC Electronics's V850E/Sx3Ha range at Embedded World 2009.

V850E/Sx3Ha is a range of 32-bit microcontrollers with 1.5 Mbytes of integrated flash memory.

The controllers are suitable for audio and navigation applications.

The six devices of the V850E/SJ3-H series and the three derivatives of the V850E/SK3-H series are based on the V850E1a core.

They feature an increased clock speed from 32 MHz to 48 MHz compared with the V850ES/SG3a and V850ES/SJ3a S Series MCUs.

This allows a processing power of up to 85 Dhrystone MIPS.

The V850E/Sx3Ha also features integrated spread-spectrum clock generators.

The devices are optimised for use in high-performance automotive radios, CD and DVD systems, USB/SD card readers and digital terrestrial broadcast equipment.

The improved EMV behaviour reduces development time and lowers system-development costs.

The pin layout and software of the new devices are backwards compatible with those of the V850ES/SG3 and V850ES/SJ3 models.

The new devices are equipped with eight UART channels, eight CSI channels and six I2C channels.

The six V850E/SJ3-H MCUs are available in 144-pin QFP packages.

The three V850E/SK3-H MCUs are available in 176-pin QFP packages.

Samples of the new 32-bit microcontrollers are now available, with mass production scheduled to begin in November 2009.
