DIN rail supplies move beyond industrial tasks

Slimline switching power supplies address fast growing demand for low power DIN rail applications.

Sunpower UK has added a further two models to its range of slimline DIN rail switching power supplies.

The MDR-40 (40W) and MDR-60 (60W) series address fast growing demand for low power DIN rail applications.

These Class I models are enclosed within fully isolated plastic cases to isolate users from shock hazards.

The 40mm-wide design follows the slimline trend so that the precious space on the industrial rail inside a control cabinet can be saved effectively.

Featuring up to 88% of efficiency, MDR-40 and 60 can be cooled using only free air convection up to 70C, significantly increasing the reliability and lifetime of the power supply.

Another important feature of these slimline DIN rail power supplies is their low no load power consumption (below 0.75W).

This unique characteristic in the market can significantly expand the application beyond just heavy industrial field, enabling the units to be applied to datacommunications or IT applications with energy saving concerns and to comply with future legislation.

Short circuit protection, overload protection, overvoltage protection and a DC-OK relay contact for monitoring the status of PSU are standard functions for the MDR-40 and 60 series.
