Desktop adapter style fanless ATX PSU is rated for 100W continuous power and possesses the capability of 125 or 150W peak load for short periods.

Sunpower (UK) has come up with a new style of switching power supply - a desktop adapter style fanless ATX PSU The ATX-100 is rated for 100W continuous power and possesses the capability of 125 or 150W peak load for short periods

With its inbuilt active PFC function the ATX-100 can fulfil the requirements of harmonic current as per EN61000-3-2 and with no load power consumption of less than 1W reduces the overall energy consumption to achieve the ever increasing energy saving requirement of many commercial and consumer appliances.

With a specially made 18AWG 20C UL rated cable with 20 pin connector and a fully isolated plastic case, the ATX-100 is easier and safer for users to assemble than conventional internal ATX power supplies.

Suitable applications include POS systems, home multimedia systems and industrial PC based equipment.

The time-consuming safety related issues involved with designing applications, relating to high voltage source have been taken care of by this external power supply leaving the end system designer only to face the SELV (safety extra low voltage) environment.

This will be a huge advantage for system designers in reducing both the size and time to market of their end products.
