Inductorless dual-output offline regulators
The Supertex SR03 Series of high-input-voltage regulator controller ICs is ideal for low-cost low-power nonisolated power supplies that provide a more energy efficient solution than linear regulators.
It is ideal for use in industrial controls, relay timers, white goods, home automation and solenoid driver applications.
This unique patent-pending IC combines advanced PWM switching techniques for highly cost efficient and energy-saving designs.
With its compact size (16-pin DIP or SO package) it allows significant reduction in overall size, promoting smaller form factors.
Other features include programmable pull-in current, pull-in time and hold currents making it adaptable to almost all types of relays that can be used universally worldwide without external switches for different input voltages, while further increasing operational efficiency.
The constant current drive scheme: assures relay operation regardless of supply voltage or relay resistance; offers programmable oscillator frequency and sync optimise performance; and avoids critical frequencies during operation.
Additionally, an adjustable auxiliary regulator provides 1mA for powering external circuits, thereby saving additional components that otherwise would be needed.
"The HV9901 is a highly flexible switching relay driver solution.
One design can be used universally around the world giving customers the advantage of stocking only one drive scheme in their design inventory", said Brian Hedayati, Director of Marketing at Supertex.
"Our customers want a relay driver IC that is simple and efficient to use and offers significant energy-saving improvements".
Samples of the HV9901NG and HV9901P are available from stock.
Lead-time for production quantities is 4 to 5 weeks ARO, priced at $1.50 each in 10,000-unit quantities.
