DSP subsystem speeds access solution development
Surf Communication Solutions has announced the upcoming availability of its SurfRider-144T family of access solutions aimed at OEM equipment requiring modem, VoIP and FoIP services.
The Surf-Ericsson framework agreement covers transcoding solutions for TDM-to-packet and packet-to-packet subsystems.
"We were pleased with Surf's DSP software robustness and professional services support", said Alessandro Pane, Manager of Service Switching and Datacom Applications CDC at Ericsson Lab, Italy.
"Surf's DSP software expertise was of special value in providing robust modem software, a field in which choices of carrier-grade dial-up software are especially limited".

We were able to integrate Surf's SMP to our system within a few days", said Ernst Schrammel, Manager of Competence Area IP-Telephony at Ericsson Enterprise LDC, Vienna.
"SMPEngine assists us to speed Ericsson's development time, enables us to shorten the time-to-revenue and reduce overall development costs of our VoIP-enabled PBX".
