The SurfAce-112 is a fully integrated three-quarter-size PCI card providing simultaneous "triple play" processing capabilities for developers of voice, video and data applications.

New from Surf Communication Solutions, the SurfAce-112 is a fully integrated three-quarter-size PCI card providing simultaneous "triple play" processing capabilities for developers of voice and video gateways, CTI applications, remote access servers (RAS), and a multitude of other voice, video and data applications Featuring cost-effective high port density and Surf's patent-pending Open Framework design, the new PCI board facilitates integration of third-party host applications and shortens time to market

SurfAce-112 uses the Texas Instruments state-of-the-art TMS320C6412 digital signal processor to integrate voice, video, and data (fax/modem) on the same DSP.

"System integrators and telecom manufacturers want to achieve triple play by expanding their existing voice systems to support video", states Amir Zmora, VP Marketing and Product Management of Surf Communication Solutions.

"The SurfAce-112 PCI board supports flexible voice/video port assignment to provide triple play media processing on a single DSP".

"The result is unrivaled price per port, short time to market, and ease of system maintenance".

SurfAce-112 can be used in a variety of products, including: voice and video gateway applications connecting mobile, broadband IP, wireless and PSTN networks; CTI applications, such as voice, video and fax mail, interactive voice/video response (IVR) servers, announcement servers, unified messaging servers, and call recording servers for voice, video, and fax; inter-working function (IWF); and stand-alone termination applications, such as RAS, conferencing servers, voice quality monitoring and nonintrusive interception and security applications.

"The SurfAce-112 takes advantage of the C6412's mix of peripherals, performance, on-chip memory and price to provide a cost-effective solution for developers seeking a design for triple play telecommunications infrastructure", said Thomas Brooks, TMS320C6000 Marketing Manager, TI.
