The high capacity of the Surf DSP-12 makes it very easy to convert the full capacity of PRI ISDN directly into GSM networks.

2N Telekomunikace has selected Surf's DSP chip multimedia processing solution, the Surf DSP-12, for inclusion in both its 2N StarGate VoIP GSM gateway and its 2N Netstar IP PBX solutions The 2N StarGate is a VoIP/PRI- GSM/3G multichannel GSM gateway for terminating calls providing maximum performance, stability and reliability

Thanks to its high capacity it is very easy to convert the full capacity of PRI ISDN directly into GSM networks.

Back-up GSM channels, the second PRI (E1) interface and a stable engine guarantee a high proportion of successful calls.

The 2N Netstar IP PBX provides integrated voice communications for on-site and remote users.

It is a communication system that integrates well-proven ISDN technologies with advanced GSM and VoIP communication networks, while also functioning as a classic digital switchboard and VoIP softswitch.

This enables the system to support interfaces such as analogue, ISDN BRI, ISDN PRI, GSM and VoIP in a single integrated, compact system.

The Surf DSP-12, chosen as the media processing platform for both 2N products, is a media processing solution offering simultaneous support for multimedia convergence.

It is suitable for equipment manufacturers who develop media gateways, iPBX, CTI products and other media-over-packet applications.

All Surf products support an easy migration path from voice to video, since the same API supports all media types.

"2N selected Surf's technology for its wide range of media processing capabilities and modular packaging, which allows us to offer customers flexible solutions that match their current and future density and channel requirements", said Martin Steinmetz, Product Manager, 2N.

"In addition, a single Surf DSP does the work of three to four DSPs from our previous chip vendor, which makes our solutions even more cost-effective than before".

"We are pleased to be selected as 2N's DSP supplier", said Avi Harush, Surf's Sales Director, EMEA.

"These projects demonstrate how Surf's rich multimedia processing package provides our customers with cost-effective, scalable and comprehensive solutions for a variety of telecom applications".
