Specialist distributor Switchtec has received an award in recognition of its marketing communications efforts from Italian based manufacturer Euroclamp.

Specialist distributor Switchtec has received an award in recognition of its marketing communications efforts from Italian based manufacturer Euroclamp The manufacturer of PCB terminal blocks and connectors presented the award to Switchtec's MD Alan Lester and Technical Director Jeremy Lester at Euroclamp's international sales meeting held near Rome

Switchtec also achieved a very creditable runner-up position in sales terms, achieving 21% of Euroclamp's total worldwide sales, losing out to the Spanish distributor that was responsible for 32% of sales.

Interestingly, Switchtec is currently in equal first position for sales in the current year.

Says Lester, "The 'best promotional work' award reflects all the hard work we have done to promote Euroclamp and its products in the UK since we joined forces seven years ago".

"Unlike many small and medium distributors who often rely on the supplier for promotional effort and simply 'distribute' components, at Switchtec we operate a very proactive marcomms programme in conjunction with our agency Publitek".

"When we first began work with Euroclamp, it was slow for a couple of years".

"But after a carefully planned and sustained programme of press releases and other promotional activities, we began to see good results from year three, and now Euroclamp is an important player in the PCB terminals and connectors marketplace, to the benefit of both companies".

The international sales meeting was the first of its kind for Euroclamp, and one that it intends to repeat every year.

Helping Euroclamp to expand and increase its sales, the meeting discussed new products, the position of the company now and where it is going, and how to improve its profile.

Also it provided the opportunity for distributors from around the globe to pool ideas and to identify marketplaces that can be worked in other countries.
