Gary Smith, chief EDA analyst at Dataquest and main author of the Dataquest EDA market report, forecasts a CAGR of 10.9% for the FPGA synthesis market through 2006.
Synplicity believes its tools will be well positioned to meet this demand.
Dataquest's annual market share and forecast report titled, "EDA 2002: the automation of RTL design", was compiled using a variety of data sources including Dataquest research, EDA vendor-submitted responses and detailed end-user surveys.
Synplicity's leadership position was based on 2001 license revenues for the Synplify, Synplify Pro and Amplify Physical Optimizer solutions.
