Quarter bricks aim for wireless applications
A new family of quarter bricks is designed for wireless applications and other areas where 24, 48 or 60V inputs are supplied to the same board.
SynQor has released a new family of quarter bricks targeting wireless applications and other areas where 24, 48 or 60V inputs are supplied to the same board.
The PowerQor PQ40 Giga series has a 4:1 operating input voltage range of 18-75V, and is offered in the industry standard quarter brick footprint and pinout.
Available output voltages are 3.3V (25A) and 5V (20A).
The PQ40 Giga series convertors use synchronous rectification and SynQor's patented topology to achieve extremely high efficiency, low power dissipation and greater reliability, in a single board, open-frame package.
The power handling capabilities of the devices are such that at 3.3V output for example, no derating is necessary up to 55C ambient temperature with just 1m/s of forced air cooling, at both 24 and 48V input.
The modules are capable of withstanding transients on the input to 100V for 100ms, and have a basic isolation level from input to output of 2000V DC.
Control and protection features include remote sense, voltage trim, input UVLO, output OVP, current limit, short circuit, and thermal shutdown.
For those extended temperature applications needing direct contact to a thermal interface (such as an enclosed clamshell design for example), baseplated versions are also offered.
Sample and production quantities are available immediately with a stock to 8-week lead-time.
The modules are priced at $58.00 in OEM quantities.
