Sixteenth brick produces more current

A SynQor Europe product story

The PQ60033SGL20 is the first in a fully 6/6 RoHS compliant family of sixteenth brick DC/DC convertors.

New from SynQor, the PQ60033SGL20 is the first in a fully 6/6 RoHS compliant family of sixteenth brick DC/DC convertors.

The PQ60033SGL20 has a full 36-75V telco input range and provides an isolated 3.3V output with up to 66W of usable power in a 755mm2 footprint.

Using the DOSA standard pinout and footprint, the sixteenth brick uses 43% less board space than eighth brick convertors.

The PQ60033SGL20 uses a synchronous rectification topology to provide excellent thermal performance with a virtually flat derating curve.

The module provides the full rated current of 20A at 70C with 1m/s airflow - over 3A more available current than other sixteenth bricks on the market, and up to 4A more than similarly rated eighth bricks.

The compact footprint of 33 x 23mm frees up board real estate for designs with limited board space.

The low profile height of 8.5mm also makes the convertor optimal for applications with low board-to-board spacing constraints.

The 35-75V-input PQ60033SGL20 is capable of withstanding transients on the input to 100V for 100ms, and has a basic isolation level from input to output of 2000V DC.

Standard control features include +/-10% trim, remote sense, and remote on/off.

The convertor's standard protection features include input undervoltage lockout (UVLO), output overvoltage (OVP), overcurrent (OCP), overtemperature (OTP), and short circuit protection.

Operating temperature range is -40 to +100C.

Sample and production quantities are available immediately with a stock to 8-week lead-time.

The modules are priced at $48.00 in OEM quantities.
