Wide-range convertors for flexible power
systems
Surface-mount point-of-load convertors have ultrawide input and output configurations to address the growing demands of intermediate bus architecture applications.
SynQor has added two new series of nonisolated surface-mount point-of-load convertors to its NiQor family, which have the benefit of ultrawide input and output configurations to address the growing demands of today's intermediate bus architecture (IBA) applications The NQ16W50SMA16 has an input voltage range of 6-16V, making it capable of being used in conjunction with 4:1, 5:1 and even 6:1 bus convertor strategies, and an output voltage range of 0.75 to 5.5V programmable by a single external resistor, thereby considerably reducing inventory levels at the OEM

Both devices are packaged in the DOSA compatible 33 x 13.5mm footprint and DOSA standard SMT pinout to ensure true second sourcing capabilities.
New to this range of NiQor devices is the sequencing/tracking feature which greatly simplifies the implementation of various different output voltage timing requirements when using multiple point of load devices in a particular application with multiple voltage chipsets.
Control and protection features include optional remote sense, input undervoltage lockout, output OVP, output current limiting, short circuit protection, and thermal shutdown.
Operating temperature range is -40 to +105C.
The devices are fully RoHS compliant.
