Symmetry Electronics put a charitable twist on its annual "Secret Santa" programme this year by donating all the gifts to the Hawthorne Fire Department so that they could be given to local children in need.

Every holiday season Symmetry Electronics holds a "Secret Santa" programme open to all employees working in its Hawthorne, California, headquarters as part of the annual end of the year holiday party.

This year, the team in charge of managing the programme added a few twists to the rules, with the true meaning of Christmas in mind.

Everyone that chose to participate this year was instructed to pick a coworker's name from a hat and purchase either a stuffed animal or toy that reminded them of that coworker.

The toys, after being revealed at the annual Symmetry holiday party, would then be donated to local children in need.

"This year's 'Secret Santa' programme was a huge success and nearly everyone participated", said Fred Scott, Symmetry's VP of Marketing and "Secret Santa" organiser.

"It feels great to arrange an event which is so wholeheartedly received by everyone in the company and also provides so much joy to children in need at this time of year".

Following this year's holiday party, several members of the Hawthorne Fire Department stopped by to gather the more than 40 stuffed animals and toys collected from Symmetry's "Secret Santas" as well as take a moment to pause with a few Symmetry employees for a few photos in front of the Christmas tree.
