Symmetry Electronics will promote and sell Telit's GSM/GPRS modules to its customer base throughout North and Latin America.

Symmetry Electronics has added Telit Wireless Solutions, the US-based mobile technology arm of Telit Communications, to its growing list of suppliers Symmetry Electronics will promote and sell Telit's GSM/GPRS modules to its customer base throughout North and Latin America as well as online across the globe through Symmetry's award-winning e-commerce website SemiconductorStore

"Telit's two decades of expertise in cellular technology and continued commitment to innovation make them an ideal partner for Symmetry", says Fred Scott, VP of Marketing for Symmetry Electronics.

"Their feature-rich cellular modules are a perfect fit for our focus on the machine-to-machine (M2M) communication and wireless markets".

Telit's innovative products offer quad-band GSM/GPRS technology using the company's M2M-refined underlying technology, including its own comprehensive protocol stack.

"Symmetry understands the importance of providing business savvy cellular solutions that address the long and short-term needs of their clients", said Roger Dewey, President and CEO of Telit Wireless Solutions.

"Through Symmetry's extensive sales network, Telit is now providing wireless application developers throughout the Americas with the innovative, customer-focused cellular communications options they so desperately need".

Telit's GSM/GPRS modules allow machines, equipment, or vehicles to interface with each other via mobile communications networks.

Telit's approach to enterprise wireless communication is unique - its products are divided into families, each tailored to different levels of integration and volumes according to application sise and production scale, and each addressing distinct application groups such as telematics, fleet management, and automatic meter reading.

Within these families, products have the same form factor and functionality irrespective of their wireless technology (GSM, CDMA).

The advantage for customers is immediately apparent because all modules within a family are interchangeable, due to uniformity in size, shape, connectors, and software interface.

Customers can easily replace any module with its successor because there is little or no change required to the application.
