Syfer Technology's commitment to workplace safety has led to the electronics component manufacturer achieving a significant safety quality standard.

The Norwich-based business has just gained certification to the challenging OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) 18001 standard.

Ongoing management systems are also in place at Syfer to identify and minimise risk to employees and other stakeholders throughout its operation.

Syfer Technology, a leading European manufacturer of ceramic multilayer capacitors, gives high priority to health and safety issues.

Its OHSAS18001 certification integrates well with accreditation it already holds for other standards.

These include the ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards for quality and environmental systems.

Together, these approvals create a structured framework for thorough health and safety checks in a systematic and verifiable way.

"Achieving OHSAS18001 is the result of much hard work", says Gordon Fisher, Syfer's Health and Safety Manager.

"It shows Syfer's responsible and committed policy towards employee safety, and our awareness of the company's legal and moral obligations".
