MLCCs for backup and load control
Taiyo Yuden has expanded its high capacitance MK series to include a new 100uF multilayer chip capacitor with a X5R temperature coefficient and in a 2220 size.
The high reliability and polarity-free multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) provide designers with new avenues for miniaturisation in portable and mobile communications equipment.
With the lower-cost Y5V dielectric, MLCCs demonstrate impressive impedance stability over wide temperature ranges - important for reliable operation in bypass applications.
Taiyo Yuden's multilayer technology combines small component size with high capacitance values.
Designed with internal nickel electrodes, the devices feature a low ESR (equivalent series resistance), and thereby excellent noise absorption characteristics.
In addition, these chip components are also ideal replacements for electrolytic capacitors as they have higher permissible ripple current values, relatively smaller case sizes and higher insulation resistance and breakdown voltages.
