Taiyo Yuden's new high reliability multilayer NTC chip thermistors are 63mW devices in chip sizes of 0402 and 0603 with values from 47 to 150k Ohm.

With a high B constant of 2950 to 4750 at 25/85C, dependent upon value, the thermistors are highly sensitive devices.

The TBP chips are based on a multilayer construction giving a combination of a broad operating temperature range of -55 to 125C, a thermal time constant of <5 seconds and a heat dissipation constant of 1 to 2.5mW/C.

In 1000-hour reliability tests, Taiyo's technology exhibits negligible change in resistance (less than 1%).

Suitable for automatic insertion equipment and normal flow or reflow soldering methods, the devices are ideal for telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics and battery protection.
