JVC elated at Tao's RTOS

The new GR-DV3000 digital video camera from Victor Company of Japan (JVC) is powered by Elate, the fully deterministic real-time operating system from the Tao Group.

Masanori Kitami, General Manager of Product Planning and Marketing at JVC's Home AV Network Business Unit, said, "JVC has been working in very close partnership with Tao since 1995 and we greatly appreciate the substantial technology advantages that its Elate RTOS and intent multimedia software stack deliver to consumer client devices".

"In the case of the GR-DV3000, we needed to have a tightly written, high performance real time operating system that could help drive our multimedia capabilities extremely effectively.

Elate is one of the significant contributing factors that gives our product line an edge over existing DVCs".

The DV3000 is a flagship product from the Yokohama-headquartered consumer electronics company.

It includes Web Camera capabilities and its support of MP3 files and MPEG4 video clips is a world-first in camcorders.
