Adapter aids display evaluation
A novel software adapter allows hex databytes and ASCII characters to be transmitted from a PC keyboard to an I2C bus.
Operating as slaves on an I2C compatible two-wire serial bus, a simple protocol provides mode control and flexible digit selection for receiving ASCII or custom character codes.
Modules may be mounted side-by-side to provide a single display with up to 32 digits (eight modules).
Displays from 4 digits to 32 digits (22.4in wide) are easily integrated into host equipment.
Display modes include moving message (up to 48 characters) or static, with seamless operation across multiple modules.
Up to nine user-designed character fonts, eight brightness levels, and separate decimal points for three digits, enhance display appearance.
Modules are powered from 5V DC, and may be mounted to front panels or directly to host PCBs.
Pricing is $69.95 each for small quantities.
