A novel software adapter allows hex databytes and ASCII characters to be transmitted from a PC keyboard to an I2C bus.
Operating as slaves on an I2C compatible two-wire serial bus, a simple protocol provides mode control and flexible digit selection for receiving ASCII or custom character codes.
