Tools speed 56K DSP designs to market
Tasking has announced the immediate availability of the Tasking DSP56xxx Tool Suite V3.0, featuring advanced debugging capabilities and a new integrated development environment.
XA tool suite uses Safer C for robust code
Tasking says its XA Tool Suite V4.0 has enhanced easy/expert configuration modes that simplify the learning curve for novices, while offering low-level control for the more experienced.
"In response to customer feedback and the growing popularity of ColdFire microprocessors, we have now developed ColdFire support into our 68K toolset", says Harm-Andre Verhoef, Tasking Product Manager, Altium.
"Tasking customers will also be pleased with the significant improvements to the EDE and debugger which will vastly increase ease of use and contribute to higher code quality".
Extensively redesigned interfaces for both the EDE and the next-generation CrossView Pro debugger in v10.0 results in a more intuitive environment and enhanced ease of use for developers.
The re-arranged menu structures, improved dialogs, and new context-sensitive help features make the toolset easy to learn and use.
Dramatic enhancements to the EDE give developers better control over the initialisation of applications and many new productivity-enhancing features.
For example, the addition of a tree-view menu makes project navigation much easier and enables developers to have full control over the configuration of their project including the setup of all tools, such as the compiler.
In the CrossView Pro debugger, the new dialogue design allows more flexible breakpoint configuration, and probe point support allows data to be retrieved from and injected into an application at run-time using I/O simulation.
The Tasking 68K/ColdFire toolset is a complete, integrated embedded software development toolset consisting of the Tasking EDE, C/C++/EC++ compiler, assembler, linker/locator and CrossView Pro BDM/JTAG, ROM monitor and simulator debugger.
The product is available for PC/Windows and Sun/Solaris.
Prices start at US $2590 for the C/C++/EC++ compiler and CrossView Pro simulator debugger package for PC/Windows.
