Two new static monitors offer a convenient and reliable way to measure surface voltage.

Two new static monitors offer a convenient and reliable way to measure surface voltage Both instruments measure surface voltage in kilovolts at 100mm, with the ECP 1606 having a range of 100kV at 100V resolution while the more accurate 1606E model offers 20kV at 10V resolution

Specifications include zero stability within 100V, drift of less than 1% FSD in 10s and accuracy of better than +/-5%.

Earth bonding is achieved via a 10mm earth stud on the bottom plate for connection to a coiled earth lead.

The instruments feature a 3.5-digit LCD with polarity and low battery indication.

Power is provided by a single PP3 9V replaceable battery (supplied) that delivers up to 500 hours continuous use.

A simple to use push button control switch turns on the monitor, sets the initial reading to zero and maintains instrument operation for the duration of measurements.

There is also a manual zero adjustment through the wall of the case.

Dimensions are 142 x 66 x 32mm and the monitors weigh in at 330g.

The metal case features a recessed sensing plate for maximum integrity and accuracy of reading.

A hardened polycarbonate window protects the display.
