Timbercon has completed RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances) compliance in accordance with the directive deadline of 1st July 2006, set forth by the European Union.
To comply with the RoHS Directive, a product must contain less than the stated allowable levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE).
Although only a few of the substance outlined by the RoHS Directive are applicable to Timbercon via components or finished products, the company embraced the opportunity to support the issue by achieving compliance nonetheless.
"Environmental stewardship is an important issue for organisations large and small", commented Eric Meslow, President of Timbercon.
"We made a deliberate decision to achieve RoHS compliance to support the needs of our customers, but also to ensure we that are utilising environmentally friendly manufacturing processes and doing our part to promote a clean environment".
