The NJ1836A GPS receiver is easy to integrate into portable products, delivering precise GPS performance with Nemerix's proven low-power technology.

Nemerix, a leading fabless semiconductor company specialising in ultra-low-power RF and baseband chipsets and software for GPS and wireless applications, has announced the NJ1836A GPS receiver The NJ1836 follows the considerable success the Nemerix has had with the NJ1006Aand NJ1030A, which are incorporated in the new device

Nemerix' latest addition to its product family allows easy integration into portable products such as mobile phones, PDAs or other Bluetooth enabled handheld devices, and delivers precise GPS performance with Nemerix's proven low-power technology.

"Our latest GPS chipsets are specifically designed for PDAs and the mobile handset market because they combine unmatched power, performance and accuracy, with the industry's smallest size and form factor", said Bijan Mohandes, Nemerix Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing.

The NJ1X36A provides an array of features designed to support PDAs and portable media players.

It is designed for any compact, battery operated GPS receiver, or cordless, Bluetooth GPS receiver, and can support GPS and cellphone frequency plans.

Additional features include: direct active or passive antenna support; WAAS and EGNOS support; a single 6 x 9mm uBGA package; GPIO/UARTs/SPIs and analogue interfaces, and an expandable memory architecture which supports SRAM and Flash memory.
