The NP CDM provides control capability, most often required when floating batteries, and DC output distribution breakers.
It connects an NP power system to one or two battery strings, creating an indoor battery plant capable of 15 to 100A, N+1 redundant.
The NP CDM has a low-voltage battery disconnect feature to protect batteries against deep discharge.

POL convertors support power sequencing
New single inline package (SIP) versions of the 16A SuperLynx II, 10A Austin Lynx II and 6A MicroLynx II DC/DC convertors come with 2.4-5.5 and 8.4-14V DC input voltage ranges.
Both the reconnect and disconnect thresholds can be set by the user.
It also protects against connecting batteries in reverse polarity and may be restarted when depleted batteries are replaced with fresh batteries in order to preserve service during continued ac utility outage.
The NP CDM features float and boost charging with float charging set as the default mode enabling the rectifiers to charge batteries while powering the load.
Boost charging is available in both manual and auto boost charge as a means to quickly charge batteries in anticipation of the next AC failure.
The module provides both low and high temperature battery slope thermal compensation, a method of linearly adjusting the output float and boost voltages to compensate for changing battery temperatures.
This includes user selectable slopes, battery string mid-string voltage imbalance detection with the optional ES771A remote voltage monitor module, battery high temperature alarm and user-assisted battery capacity testing.
The NP CDM provides features such as user configurable alarm relays with selective severity assignment, loss of redundancy and imminent shutdown alarms.
It has input for an external auxiliary alarm and user-definable severity for open distribution fuses or breakers.
The ES740AD system controller is designed to allow the user maximum flexibility in system configuration enabling users to set the plant float voltage, plant boost voltage and various alarm thresholds.
The NP CDM may be mounted in standard 19 or 23in rail widths.
The latter requires use of a configurable mounting bracket.
Mounting brackets are also available for the NP shelf to be mounted in 23in applications.
Future options include I2C, TCP/IP, SNMP and RS232 communication.
