The Infinity FMS power system is a new modular concept part of the Infinity Platform introduced by Tyco Electronics Power Systems in October 2001.
POL convertors support power sequencing
New single inline package (SIP) versions of the 16A SuperLynx II, 10A Austin Lynx II and 6A MicroLynx II DC/DC convertors come with 2.4-5.5 and 8.4-14V DC input voltage ranges.
The low-profile shelf design allows customers to switch out rectifiers without modifying the shelf enabling customers to rearrange rectifiers to support their exact power requirements and reducing their total cost of ownership.
Each rectifier can support additional control and communications features through a PCMCIA card used to drive a variety of controller options from standard power alarms through remote monitoring and a fully web based remote monitoring and control option.
The PCMCIA cards are also used to drive custom controller designs.

The ICS4220 power system also incorporates Tyco Electronics' new Spring controller, an advanced controller designed to fit the needs of telecomms and wireless power systems.
The Spring controller simplifies plant administrative and surveillance routines as well as reduces operating, provisioning and personnel expenses.
The ICS4220 battery plant may be equipped with up to four innovative battery shelves each accommodating a 150Ah capacity 48V battery string, providing over 600Ah total battery capacity.
A variety of other battery configurations from multiple suppliers may be accommodated allowing the battery autonomy to be tailored for the specific site load requirements.
Each battery shelf also includes an integral battery isolator.
DC distribution can be provided via DIN style thermal magnetic circuit breakers.
Depending on the style and rating of the circuit breakers chosen, the DC distribution unit can accommodate up to 12 single pole circuit breakers equipped with trip alarms.
The two cabinet size options, either 1.5 or 2.2m high with a 600 x 600mm footprint, enable the ICS4220 power system to fit into several different environments.
List price for basic configurations starts at $4700.00 per unit.
