Convertor goes onboard xDSL line cards
The CPFW080X6 is a high-efficiency, full-brick, multiple-output, modular DC/DC convertor designed to support xDSL applications.
New from Tyco Electronics Power Systems, the CPFW080X6 is a high-efficiency, full-brick, multiple-output, modular DC/DC convertor designed to support xDSL applications The CPFW080X6 convertor operates within an input voltage range of 36 to 75V DC, providing multiple, precisely regulated outputs to suit most DSLAM card applications, such as ADSL, ADSL2+, VDSL, EoVDSL and SDSL

Rectifier fronts up wireless power system
The 24V NP1300 rectifier has been specifically designed for 24V applications and is used as a part of the Infinity Platform for global wireless solutions.
Control module puts batteries on standby
Tyco Electronics Power Systems has expanded its NP Series of 48V power systems with the NP control and distribution module (CDM) indoor battery reserve system.
This modular platform supplies four "digital type" outputs ranging from 3.3 to 1.2V to power logic ICs, and the lowest core "digital type" output voltage is programmable from 1.2 to 1.8V to accommodate different chipset needs from silicon vendors and to support future migration to finer silicon geometries.
In addition, the remote sensing for the high current core voltage compensates for application PCB distribution drops.
The programmable analogue line driver output can be configured either as balanced bipolar supplies (ie two output voltages), ranging from +/-5 to +/-12V, or as a single unipolar output ranging from +10 to +24V.
The convertor delivers up to 80W total power.
It can also power-trade up to 65W on analogue type outputs or up to 45W on the digital side, as well as any combinations in between.
The innovative open-frame packaging enables excellent performance in a variety of demanding thermal environments and allows the convertor to operate within a wide temperature range (-40 to +70C) without derating.
"The new CPFW080X6 has been designed to make an off-the-shelf solution available for most broadband access solutions", said Sabi Varma, Vice President, Marketing and Business Operations at Tyco Electronics Power Systems.
"This module offers excellent flexibility without compromising cost and performance, and it suits many DSLAM applications from 48 to 72 lines".
The CPFW080X6 convertor produces low output ripple and noise (a key parameter in powering AFE) and has output overcurrent and overvoltage protection, positive remote on/off logic and the ability to sequence the digital and analogue output groups.
Furthermore, it incorporates auto restart after fault shutdown and extensive filtering for both input and output, which minimises the need for external filtering for regulatory compliance.
The CPFW080X6 convertor is priced at $57.60 for 1000-unit quantities.
