The MCA 1890 stripe tri-band and 1890 PA/SMB mini-patch are the latest additions to the Hirschmann Antennas range.
According to TDC, it is one of the most complete connectivity solutions on the market, shouldering the entire burden of handling incoming and outgoing web and network traffic, and communicating with host devices through simple AT commands on the serial port.
Normally, an embedded PC would be required to deliver this level of functionality.
The iWi-Fi Server can accept up to ten simultaneous TCP/UDP sockets, two listening sockets, and can host two websites.
Using iWi-Fi, the simplest embedded microcontroller including 8bit devices can send e-mail, connect to the Internet, post an up to date status web page, complete an FTP transfer or set up a TCP/IP socket.
Integration into existing designs is extremely straightforward, as the compact 64.5 x 27.4 x 11.0mm module can simply connect to headers on the host PCB and connects to an external antenna.
Minimal or no software configuration is needed to connect Secure Socket iWi-Fi to a target wireless LAN.
TDC is offering a comprehensive development kit, allowing designers to fully evaluate the module in their application.
TDC also offers a range of compatible antennas, and its specialists can advise on the most appropriate choice for individual customers' applications.
