ABB Drives Alliance expands in SW England
At a time when some suppliers in the industry are closing local offices, ABB Drives Alliance is strengthening its presence in the regions by opening new ones.
Testing will include precompliance and planned compliance testing in safety, abuse, EMC, environmental reliability, performance and life testing through internal, customer and regulatory specifications and standards.
"The location and expansion of this facility's capability further reinforces our unique position in the market and demonstrates our focused commitment to growth in Asia.
This is the most significant investment and step forward for the company both locally and globally since the opening of the Shanghai manufacturing facility in 2000.
By offering these independent capabilities in-house, we will reduce research, testing, and qualification times, and accelerate time-to-market for approved new technologies, components, battery packs and power solutions", said Dave Redfern, General Manager of TDI Batteries.
"The European manufacturing facilities in Dundee, UK and Zalaegerszeg, Hungary will also benefit from the results of this dedicated testing", said Colin Malcomson, Technology Director.
"We look forward to growing our partnership strength with our suppliers and continuing to add value for our customers globally", he added.
TDI Batteries employs an integrated worldwide electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering design team, focused on designing and manufacturing cutting edge technology along with optimised and cost effective design solutions.
The facility's unique independent testing capabilities will give key customers the ability to complete all of their required specification and environmental testing under one roof.
In combination with the company's flexible manufacturing methods, this expansion enables TDI Batteries to continue to offer the complete turnkey power solution.
