High-temperature capacitors hit the road
MLCCs offer a wider than normal operating temperature range and reduced temperature response to enable designs targeted at harsh environments such as automotive.
The new X8R series of multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) from TDK offers a wider than normal operating temperature range and reduced temperature response to enable designs targeted at harsh environments such as automotive Across the devices' maximum operating temperature range of -55 to +150C, the variation in capacitance in response to temperature is +/-15%

Component library is free to design customers
TDK and Ansoft Corporation have announced the release of a new library for TDK's capacitor, inductor, common mode filter, and ferrite bead components for use in Ansoft Designer.
The wider operating temperature range delivers greater reliability for electronic circuits in harsh environments, such as measuring instruments or on-vehicle control units placed in the engine room.
The reduced temperature response offers enhanced precision for filter circuitry and time constant application in semi-high-temperature ranges (up to +125C).
Capacitance values are available from 150pF up to 4.7uF.
Across this range, component dimensions are offered from 3.20 x 2.5 down to 1.0 x 0.5mm.
The X8R series is available now in taped, bulk or sample-books formats.
