A wide range of fast and effective EMI/RFI screening products is offered by Dorset based specialist Tecan, with solutions for prototype, development and production needs Engineers can select popular ex-stock can sizes, or choose from the Tecshield range of 'on-the-bench' modelling systems, which put fabrication in the hands of the engineer and designer, for cost-efficient case-specific screening evaluation and development

Tecshield is a prefabricated sheet matrix system with the appearance of graph paper, from which engineers cut and fold individual cans, fences and lids.

It is a fast and convenient route to producing optimum electrical RFI/EMI shielding effectiveness in prototype screening can designs.

The range includes single sheets of sidewalls (Tecwall), prescored matrices for simple can and lid construction (Tecshield), or for heat-sensitive applications (Tecshield Plus), which features ventilation apertures to prevent 'hot boxing'.

Alternatively, all three types can be supplied on a single sheet (Tecshield 3-in-1) for maximum versatility, convenience and cost-efficiency.

Bright tin-plated copper sheet is employed to ensure the shielding effectiveness of completed designs is as close to that of custom-designed cans as possible, unlike traditional modelling systems with less effective materials.

Tecwall can be used to construct fences.

Both types of Tecshield can be used to fabricate removable lids.

Tecshield can also be used to construct five-sided cans where removable lids are not required.

All the products feature photo-chemically 'semi-etched' grid lines which make cutting easy and make right-angled corners quick and easy to model.

Tecshield and Tecshield Plus are 0.4mm thick and have a cut/fold grid system based on a 0.2in pitch.

The Tecshield sheet features a hexagonal hole in each of the individual grid squares.

Both products offer a 'working area' of 26 x 33cm.

Tecwall sheets consist of twelve individual strips, with integral centrally placed removable PCB mounting pins.

The strips have fold lines with a 0.4in pitch, providing a total of 33 segments per strip.

In the standard can range, a flexible mix-and-match approach is offered, allowing designers to select the most convenient off-the-shelf screening can or enclosure from a wide choice of sizes, lids, sides walls and mountings.
