Virtually all designs are easy to tool and tooling modifications are a simple CAD-to-plot process.

The technology lends itself to the fast and efficient production of prototypes and allows for down-the-line design iterations to be cost-efficiently incorporated and with minimal delay.

Typical markets for the high-precision pre-production and low/medium-volume parts include OEMs in electronics, medical, optical, communications and aerospace.

Typical parts include optical encoder disks, grids, screens, meshes, washers, shims, RFI screening cans and similar custom components.

The company offers high-specification prototypes of flat metal components at very low set costs, based on a standard metal sheet 'blank' size of 300 x 400mm.

Base materials include stainless steel, copper, brass and nickel silver, with many other materials available.

Designers and engineers are offered an extremely flexible opportunity, being able to specify as many parts as can be fitted into the prototype blank sheet's surface area.

Furthermore, it is possible to 'part-etch' areas of the design, such as fold lines, allowing the end user to easily fabricate custom 3D parts.

In addition to prototyping new parts and lower-volume runs, the service targets those seeking urgent access to high-quality precision-engineered parts for repair or retrofit.

Once the design is finalised, down-the-line production speeds and costs are reduced because the tooling is already in place.

Future modifications can be readily incorporated using the company's CAD system, ensuring any knock-on tooling costs are minimised.

In-house plating is also offered with a turnaround of 72 hours.

Plating options include tin (3 to 8um), electroless nickel (3 to 8um), anodising (I ,II and III) and Alocrom 1200 as well as Tecan's proprietary range of TECfin finishes.
