Serial ATA Revision 3.0 standard test procedures
Tektronix has announced the availability of the first published test procedures for physical layer testing of the Serial ATA Revision 3.0 standard.
Designed as a basestation "toolkit", the new NetTek tool serves the purpose of multiple instruments.
The flexible platform allows additional capabilities to be added in the future.
Tektronix intends to add a basestation T-1 backhaul link testing option to the NetTek tool within the next six months.
The NetTek basestation field tool consists of a multistandard measurement module, the YBT250, housed in the NetTek installation and maintenance mainframe.
It addresses GSM, IS-136, and CDMAOne standards and performs the most common diagnostic tests needed for onsite base station transmitter verification.
These include tests for frequency, output power, and modulation quality.
In addition, the available instrument options include automated functions to help locate interference sources such as TV, pager signals, or competing wireless provider signals.
The NetTek Windows CE interface provides instant-on convenience and supports easy to use, touch-screen-based test automation features.
Self-explanatory on-screen menus guide the user through fast, accurate measurement procedures.
The compact magnesium NetTek housing is both rugged and, at about 5kg, exceptionally light in weight, and can run on battery power for flexibility- appreciated by field users who often transport the unit some distance on foot, and perform their work in cramped quarters.
The NetTek tool is economical, making it an ideal solution to equip the burgeoning number of installation and maintenance teams needed to service today's growing networks.
The instrument's purchase price is a fraction of that of conventional basestation analysers.
Moreover, the modular NetTek tool with the YBT250 is ready to cost-effectively adapt to tomorrow's standards via simple software upgrades and/or new measurement modules.
The platform can accept up to three user-installed modules simultaneously; modules can easily be swapped to change instrument function. Request a free brochure from Tektronix ...
