Serial ATA Revision 3.0 standard test procedures
Tektronix has announced the availability of the first published test procedures for physical layer testing of the Serial ATA Revision 3.0 standard.
This approach uses packet switching that has been added to the existing GSM network, increasing data transmission rates and reducing call establishment time.
These are the attributes today's mobile subscribers are looking for as they seek out next-generation mobile data services such as email, text messaging, and even web browsing.
Tektronix' NET-GPRS monitoring system has been developed to provide network operators with a competitive advantage in providing these services to their customers.

The NET-GPRS allows operators to speed delivery of and provide optimisation for GPRS network capabilities with an integrated set of network optimisation and troubleshooting tools specifically designed for GPRS networks.
The nonintrusive NET-GPRS attaches to the SS7/GSM and GPRS signalling/data links that reside within every GPRS network infrastructure.
NET-GPRS can observe the many interfaces that are involved in GPRS "procedures" such as GPRS Attach, GPRS Location Update and others.
This essential NET-GPRS feature, known as Procedure Trace, allows operators to correlate information coming from different interfaces, contained in different protocol stacks, and related to transactions taking place in different geographical areas of the network.
As a result, the NET-GPRS procedure trace feature represents a distinctive advantage over the traditional monitoring capabilities offered by switches, network elements and operation and maintenance centres (OMCs).
In addition, the powerful network-wide visibility of newly installed GPRS elements provided by NET-GPRS demands fewer skilled field personnel to support the deployment process and the everyday maintenance, optimisation and troubleshooting activities.
The procedure trace feature is also valuable for troubleshooting and network optimisation.
The NET-GPRS accumulates a history of the transactions and procedures it monitors.
The user can look back in time to reconstruct the protocol details of the transaction and the path it followed.
Graphical tools help the user quickly locate problems in the flow of protocol messages and identify potential sources of quality of service (QoS) degradation.
The result is faster response to subscriber complaints and more accurate assessment of the problem and potential solutions.
This in turn leads to increased customer satisfaction and reduced customer turnover ("churn").
The NET-GPRS has a Windows-based user interface that provides a familiar operating environment and compatibility with office applications and analysis tools.
While the NET-GPRS shares the same proven platform as the Tektronix' NET-7 monitoring system for GSM networks, the NET-GPRS' features are specifically designed and optimised for GPRS applications. Request a free brochure from Tektronix ...
