Award for novel customisable oscilloscope
The TDS5000B digital phosphor oscilloscope (DPO) with MyScope control windows has received a DesignVision Award from the International Engineering Consortium.
The TDS5000B digital phosphor oscilloscope (DPO) with MyScope control windows has received a DesignVision Award from the International Engineering Consortium (IEC) in the test and measurement equipment category.
DesignVision Awards recognise leading-edge products and services in the electronic design and semiconductor industries.
The awards were announced at a ceremony on 1st February 2005, during the DesignCon conference in Santa Clara, California.
Judged by industry experts as well as members of the media, the DesignVision Awards recognise technologies, applications, products, and services judged to be the most innovative, unique and beneficial to the customer and industry as a whole.
"As the leader in providing educational opportunities to the electronic design industry, the IEC is proud to recognise companies like Tektronix for their ingenuity and service", said, John Janowiak, Senior Director of the International Engineering Consortium.
"Based on these honourees, you can tell that the spirit of innovation that has always fueled the electronic design and semiconductor industry is still going strong".
"We are extremely pleased and honoured to be given the DesignVision Award for our TDS5000B with MyScope product", said Colin Shepard, Vice President, Performance Oscilloscopes, Tektronix.
"The MyScope interface simultaneously delivers sophisticated functionality to advanced users without inconveniencing occasional users".
"We continually work to ensure we're listening to our customer's needs, and we're proud that the TDS5000B is being recognised by the industry for delivering high performance and increasing engineering productivity".
MyScope functionality enables users to quickly and easily customise the oscilloscope to meet their unique requirements.
Using a simple drag and drop procedure, users are able to pull all the oscilloscope features they use into a single half screen control window; allowing them to tailor the oscilloscope to their particular style or measurement task.
Engineers can create a virtually unlimited number of custom MyScope control windows, enabling multiple users of a shared TDS5000B to each have their own custom interface.
MyScope control windows maximise efficiency in a user's day-to-day work by focusing their energy on the task at hand rather than navigating back and forth through multiple menus and submenus.
Relearning how to use the oscilloscope after breaks from lab work is eliminated through the ability to save and reuse the customised control windows.
