Teko offers an extensive range of plastic enclosures which have been designed for mounting membrane keypads In recent years, membrane keypads have become the most popular method of control and input for small electronics, especially with handheld and pocket size devices

As a result, keypad friendly off-the-shelf enclosures, with a recessed area where the keypad can be easily located, have become very popular with design engineers.

With membrane keypads being made up from several layers of material, it is also important that the recess is of sufficient depth - usually at least 1mm.

When designing their new enclosures, Teko now ensures provision for a membrane keypad is always included.

For example, the Teknet line has been designed for handheld instruments, has external dimensions of 155 x 96mm in heights of 20, 24 and 28mm, and can be supplied with or without a battery compartment.

The cases have a large recessed area for the keypad, and uniquely feature elastomer edge grips, which are created by dual-shot moulding, and are easy to hold.

The Ovo series of pocket-size enclosures also feature a keypad recess.

These ergonomically contoured enclosures are designed for mobile devices using RF or infra-red telemetry.

The cases are great to hold and are available in two sizes: 95 x 51 x 17 and 124 x 66 x 23mm, and are moulded in off-white or black ABS.

In addition to these, Teko offers many other keypad friendly enclosures.

The company can also machine a slot for the keypad ribbon cable, as well as holes for other connectors and controls.
