TI has kept up its 100% pass rate for all DOCSIS cable modem vendors who used TI chips and software in certification waves 19, 20, 21 and 22.

TI has kept up its 100% pass rate for all DOCSIS cable modem vendors who used TI chips and software in Waves 19, 20, 21 and 22 This success rate is attributed to the maturity of TI's solution as well as the ability to test its silicon and software products to the exact DOCSIS 1.0 and 1.1 requirements in its world class testing facility prior to submission to CableLabs for certification testing

The latest class of DOCSIS 1.0 and 1.1 certified modems included TI-based products from several customers.

The Motorola SB4220 and Toshiba PCX2500 cable modems achieved both DOCSIS 1.0 and 1.1 certification.

The Joohong cable modem achieved DOCSIS 1.1 certification.

Additionally, a ready to manufacture cable modem, the TI TNETC405T achieved DOCSIS 1.1 certification.

"TI's success rate on DOCSIS certification is helping manufacturers reach the market faster with the latest cable modem technology", said Michael Harris, president and principle analyst for Kinetic Strategies.

"TI has been a leading contributor in the development of cable modem technology today that will enable a smooth transition for OEMs moving toward DOCSIS 2.0 tomorrow".

TI is the first and only silicon and software provider to offer a complete, in-house facility to test customer designs based on the DOCSIS standard.

The TI test facility emulates the test procedures at CableLabs with an emphasis on stability and performance.

"We are pleased to extend TI's technology leadership and expertise in DOCSIS with the results of this certification wave, " said Brett Butler, general manager of TI's Broadband Cable Communications.

"The investment that we have made in advanced systems expertise and test capabilities are bringing tremendous value to TI and TI's customers.

Our customers have higher level of confidence that they can achieve CableLabs DOCSIS certification on the first attempt and this translates directly into revenue and profit".
