TI's 802.11b technology will provide HP commercial desktops with high performance 802.11b connectivity, enabling greater throughput and increased network range compared with competing WiFi solutions.
For IT managers, this enables better user experience and performance within their wireless network.
"The PC space is a key part of our WLAN strategy and this announcement with HP is our first public step in this market space", said Marc Cetto, General Manager, TI's Wireless Networking Business Unit.
"By offering high performance, full interoperability and cost effective WiFi technology, TI is providing HP with a leading WLAN solution to expand 802.11 offerings on their line of commercial PCs".
