A record number of Texas Instruments customers exhibited at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2005 in Las Vegas, with many taking home an armful of industry awards.
A record number of Texas Instruments customers exhibited at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2005 in Las Vegas, with many taking home an armful of industry awards, winning 43 product awards for 35 products including digital cameras, streaming media devices, home theatre products, portable media players, digital radios, videophones, TVs, projectors and other digital consumer electronics based on TI technology "At this year's CES, it was exciting to see the overwhelming accomplishments TI has made in consumer electronics with the number of customers in attendance and TI innovations on display", said Rich Templeton, President and CEO, TI, and 2005 CES keynote speaker

The prestigious Innovations Awards programme has given consumer electronics manufacturers and developers an opportunity to have their newest products judged by a preeminent panel of independent industry designers, engineers and journalists.
Product evaluations are based on user value, aesthetics, contributions to the quality of life and innovation.
In addition, dozens of other TI-based products were recognised with CES Innovations Awards, some of which include: Archos AV420 (pocket video recorder); Archos Gmini 400 (digital audio player); Cinego DLP projector/DVD player/sound system (home theatre); Denon AVR-5805 (home theatre); HP Instant Cinema and Home Cinema (DLP projector); HP Photosmart R707 (digital still camera); iBiquity Digital HD Radio Supplemental Audio Services (SAS) (digital radio); InFocus Screenplay (DLP TV); InFocus Screenplay 777 (DLP projector); Kodak DX7590 (digital still camera); LG Electronics 62-Inch DLP Rear Projection TV (DLP TV); MobiNote DP7010 (portable media player); Optoma SV50XF (DLP TV); Panasonic SV-AV50 (portable video camera); Pixa All In One (DLP projector); Plus Vision v3-131 (DLP projector); and Sling Media's Slingbox Personal Broadcaster (streaming TV).
In other awards, CNET's team of top editors helped identify the ultimate 2005 "category killers" in its Next Big Thing awards.
To no surprise, several of the innovations that CNET selected as setting the standard in innovation included TI technology, such as Samsung's 67-inch DLP HDTV (HLR6768W), iBiquity's HD Radio digital AM/FM broadcast technology, the Kodak Easyshare-One digital camera and the Slingbox Personal Broadcaster by Sling Media.
In addition, Archos' AV420 Pocket Video Recorder was a winner of the Technology is a Girl's Best Friend award, which is awarded by journalists from top women's media outlets and technology reporters based on form, function, overall ease of use and how these products enhance the daily lives of female consumers.
G4techTV's Best of CES awards recognised the Kodak Easyshare-One camera and Sling Media's Slingbox as two of the top 12 new technology products launched at CES.
Some of the G4techTV award finalists leveraging TI technology include the InFocus Screen Play 50md10 DLP TV, Optoma Movie Time DLP projector and the Sonos Digital Music System.
