Fast track delivery aids timely

A new "fast track" delivery programme ensures delivery of COTS single board computers in just two weeks or less.
Bucking the trend of extended delivery lead times in the embedded COTS marketplace, Thales Computers has launched a new "fast track" COTS delivery programme which ensures delivery of the company's three newest and highest-performance COTS single board computers in just two weeks or less The fast track COTS programme, which is effective immediately, is aimed primarily at supporting fast-turnaround prototyping needs

The boards covered by this new programme include: Thales Computers' PowerEngine7, offering a 733MHz PowerPC 750X processor, 256Mbyte SDRAM and 64Mbyte Flash; the PowerNode3 with dual 1GHz PowerPC G4 processors, 512Mbyte SDRAM, 64Mbyte Flash, L3 2Mbyte cache memory per processor and 2Mbyte SRAM; and the V4G4c offering quad 500MHz PowerPC G4 processors, 512Mbyte SDRAM and 32Mbyte Flash.
All three boards offer low power consumption and support the 2eSST protocol, providing even higher performance than competitive boards.
In announcing the new programme, Tom Hall, President of Thales Computers, said: "As an acknowledged leader in the development of SBCs for the COTS marketplace, we recognise that it's essential to deliver our advanced technology in a timely manner so our customers can meet their prototyping needs as expeditiously as possible".
"To that end, and to meet the increasing demand for our SBCs, we've undertaken an inventory management procedure which ensures necessary stock of all three boards in quantities to meet all anticipated customer needs".
