Current G4 customers will be able to protect long-term investments in application software and smoothly migrate to the PowerNode3+ with a minimum of software and application porting support.
The PowerNode3+ features up to two PowerPC 7448 processors running at 1.4GHz - the latest PowerPC from Freescale.
Improved connectivity and performance come from PowerNode3+'s two PCI mezzanine card sites, 1Mbyte internal L2 cache, VME 2eSST (320Mbyte/s peak bandwidth) capability and optional serial RapidIO PMC switch fabric.
PowerNode3+ is available in several versions including a rugged version for harsh environment applications.
In addition to LynxOS and VxWorks Operating System, the PowerNode3+ is featuring a Linux SMP support, thanks to its unique shared memory architecture.
