The PowerNode3+ is ideally suited for signal processing and other leading edge functions.

Thales has introduced its PowerNode3+, a follow-up to its popular PowerNode3 computing node, designed to provide users with more computing power at higher speeds The PowerNode3+ is ideally suited for signal processing functions and leading edge functions

Current G4 customers will be able to protect long-term investments in application software and smoothly migrate to the PowerNode3+ with a minimum of software and application porting support.

The PowerNode3+ features up to two PowerPC 7448 processors running at 1.4GHz - the latest PowerPC from Freescale.

Improved connectivity and performance come from PowerNode3+'s two PCI mezzanine card sites, 1Mbyte internal L2 cache, VME 2eSST (320Mbyte/s peak bandwidth) capability and optional serial RapidIO PMC switch fabric.

PowerNode3+ is available in several versions including a rugged version for harsh environment applications.

In addition to LynxOS and VxWorks Operating System, the PowerNode3+ is featuring a Linux SMP support, thanks to its unique shared memory architecture.

"The PowerNode3+ is a significant upgrade of our PowerNode3 product".

"The original product has proven to be very popular with customers whose requirements demand precise signal processing and leading edge functions".

"The PowerNode3+ is faster, more powerful and comes with the ability for G4 users to easily migrate their applications", said Alain Albarello, General Manager of Thales Computers.

The product can be customised to fit the specific needs of the end user.

Pricing for the PowerNode3+ starts at US $5154 subject to specifications.
