The ITC-320 series is a range of 3U CompactPCI blade SBCs using a high performance and long term supply processing chipset from the Intel Embedded Architecture.

Thales has unveiled its ITC-320 series, a compact size version of its popular single- and dual-core Intel processor-based blade SBC, the PENTXM, PENTXM2 and PENTXM4 The ITC-320 series is a range of 3U CompactPCI blade SBCs using a high performance and long term supply processing chipset from the Intel Embedded Architecture

The series features three types of top performance single and dual-core Intel processors and four types of environmental builds, including a rugged conduction-cooled version.

Equipped with the latest dual-core 1.5GHz Intel Core2 Duo LV processor, the ITC-320 is able to meet high demanding signal and data processing applications.

Using the 1.2GHz Intel Core Duo processor, the ITC-320 product is the best compromise between computing performance and low power consumption.

The ITC-320 version supports the 1.0GHz Celeron M processor and is an excellent choice when power dissipation is a critical issue.

"The ITC-320 series represents a significant stride in Thales' technological excellence in Intel computing platforms", says Christian Baud, General Manager of Thales' computer activities.

"The processing density of the ITC-320 satisfies both the high performance requirements and the space constraints found in the latest mobile processing applications such as those used in transport and defence electronics markets".

The ITC-320 series features all the high performance I/Os that are available on the latest laptop PCs, such as an UXGA graphics controller on PCI-Express, two Gigabit Ethernet network interfaces configurable by software either on the front RJ45 connectors, or on the rear J2 connector, quad SATA 150 ports and quad USB 2.0 ports.

An onboard USB connector is able to support a standard USB Flash disk module within the 4HP form factor.

The onboard SATA 150 connector extends the storage capacity of the SBC with the use of a 2.5in device in a larger 8HP form factor.

Furthermore, the ITC-320 can easily run high demanding applications with its high performance PCI compatible PCI-Express configurable either as x4 or quad x1 links.

"The ITC-320 combines the advantages of a 3U blade CompactPCI embedded computers with the connectivity capability of laptop PCs and the high throughputs of PCI-Express interfaces found in AdvancedTCA or MicroTCA architectures", says Joe Eicher, Thales' Field Application Engineering Manager.

"Such a unique feature makes the ITC-320 an ideal product for leveraging existing compact sized embedded computers".

The ITC-320 runs 2.6 kernel Linux and features an extensible firmware interface (EFI) BIOS/Firmware which is able to boot QNX, VxWorks, LynxOS and Microsoft Windows operating systems.

The ITC-320 series will be available during the first quarter of 2008 and will start at US $2600 in small volume, subject to specifications.

The ITC-320 products are covered by Thales Computers' long-term supply programme.

This offer guarantees defence customers a multi-year supply of the product beyond its active life.
