Multifunctional test tool provides advanced cable diagnosis and troubleshooting capabilities on twisted pair cable, all in a single test set.

Tempo's new Sidekick Plus advanced cable maintenance test set is a multifunctional tool that provides advanced cable diagnosis and troubleshooting capabilities on twisted pair cable, all in a single test set "The Sidekick Plus will improve any technician's test and troubleshooting capabilities by providing quick testing and fast repairs that also help reduce repeat calls", said Andrew Long, Senior Product Marketing Manager

"This test set can easily capture test data for sharing records and is simple to learn, especially for Sidekick family product users".

The lightweight, handheld meter uses digital technology to combine VOM and loop current tests, longitudinal balance, or stress test, transmission and noise, open locator, load coil detection, RFL and a powerful TDR into one test set that accurately uncovers intermittent troubles that often go undetected in other test sets.

The test functions can be selected and used individually or run automatically by using the innovative auto-test mode feature with pass/fail.

Other features include a multimode wire tracing tone, caller ID display that includes call waiting and caller ID, a built-in loudspeaker dialing capacity with phone book memory, and selectable analogue meter or digital display with big, easy-to-read display with backlighting.

The built-in USB port allows download of test results and upload of software.
