Range includes nine new LCD products, available in four screen sizes ranging from 5.7 to 10.4in, with QVGA, VGA, SVGA and XGA resolutions.
The panels were clearly designed to suit monitor OEMs who could take the panel, add a power supply and house them in a low-cost monitor casing to produce a very simple and cost-effective monitor.
The simplicity of this product style has also proved popular in the UK among engineers working on products as diverse as information kiosks and HMI panels.
The range consists of two 15in panels (both XGA resolution) and two 17in panels - a version of each with analogue (VGA) interface and versions with analogue plus composite video.
Each is supplied as an OEM product; Trident supplies a PCB bearing the on-screen-menu controls and a connector field.
The appearance of the OSD can be customised, giving developers the ability to personalise their designs.
The 17in Smart Panels have dropped in price by a rather inflation-busting 15% from the factory which means Trident can sell a complete panel/OSD kit for well under GBP 400 in reasonable volumes.
