Wide-screen 8.5in TFT LCD suits a wide range of applications from mobile computing to medical or industrial equipment.
Unlike CRTs and plasma displays, LCD monitors are not phosphor based, and therefore do not suffer from burn-in after long periods of displaying a static image.
Their rated life is up to ten years continuous use, requiring only a low cost replacement backlight after typically 50kh use.
By contrast, a plasma display normally needs replacing completely after 25 or 30kh continuous use.
The two sizes offered by Trident are an almost direct replacement for the popular sizes of plasma screen.
The 40in version can substitute for a 42in plasma, and the 30in is perfect for use as a flight information display screen (FIDS) at check in desks and similar applications.
Both displays offer exceptional screen performance and resolution, and have wide viewing angle (IPS) technology to give a viewing angle of up to 170 degrees in a horizontal and vertical plane.
A removable bezel allows for easy integration into customer specific cabinets.
NEC supports these monitors with technology that allows them to be operated and controlled from a host PC situated up to 200m away.
CableComp compensates for the loss of quality and phase coherence over long cable runs, and allows the new monitors to be driven over up to 200m over Cat5 cable and 100m via VGA cables.
NaviSet allows remote interrogation and setting of display parameters, to compensate for changing ambient lighting conditions.
Both the new NEC large format LCD monitors have mountings conforming to the draft 200 x 100mm VESA standard.
Trident offers compatible Ergotron mountings that allow for easy wall and ceiling installation with swivel and tilt adjustment.
The screens are supplied with many popular current and upcoming connector styles, and can be fitted with speakers if required.
