Displays business expands in the north
After a successful first year in the Danish market working closely with Promax, Trident Displays has opened its first display specialist office in the Nordic region.

Bart Dolsma, European Business Manager for Trident Displays, will have the responsibility for managing the Nordic Display business.
He said: "With the opening of a Trident Displays office, and the hiring of a specialist display team, we are filling a gap, providing capabilities beyond those available from both large global distributors, and existing small local specialists.
Our new team in Denmark will benefit directly from the in-depth expertise in display system design and manufacture of our existing teams in the UK and Benelux, backed up by the capabilities to build cost-effectively in quantities from tens to tens of thousands of units".

Dolsma added: "We will continue to work closely together with Promax.
Our new office will draw on their broad component franchise base, especially the display related franchises like Microsoft embedded operating systems.
We will also continue to partner on the significant number of opportunities among their component customer base.
In these opportunities, we will offer products, technical knowledge and display expertise whilst they will contribute local logistics, customer and sales support".
He added: "We are making a significant commitment to the Danish and Nordic market with the new location, which encompasses a local language website presenting our full range of products, local advertising, seminars and other initiatives.
Our Danish office will initially support customers throughout the Nordic region, but our road-map includes the opening of local offices in Sweden in the coming months and Finland and Norway in the future".
Peter A Busck, Managing Director of Promax Nordic, said: "With the expansion of the Trident business model direct into the Nordic market and with the hiring of a specialised team, which will work full time on display solutions, we can focus the technical service provided to our customers on our core business and Trident can do the same on the display business.

Trident will shortly name the display team recruited to support the business in Denmark and the Nordic region.
Through the Trident Nordic office, customers can access the full capabilities of the whole Trident Microsystems Group.
This encompasses Microversal, which manufactures display interfaces, as well as Trident Displays, which offers one of the most comprehensive display product portfolios in Europe.
These displays can be customised to customers' sometimes very specialised requirements, and delivered as tailored flat panel PCs, semi-custom monitors, or even full custom monitors incorporating some or all of a display, a computer, software, packaging, box-build and associated wiring.
Key franchises like Microsoft within Promax and Toshiba within Trident have recognised the strength of the Abacus Group in the Nordic region, and extended their distribution agreements into the Nordic area.
Trident has a history of integrating systems for demanding applications, including monitors for mass-transit passenger information, dealing-room monitor consoles with multiple input switching and medical monitors with extra low EMC susceptibility for use with scanners and irradiation equipment.
Recent successes include an award winning aid for the partially sighted in Benelux and a bespoke system for logo generation for broadcasters.
