Controllers simplify flat panel interfacing
New OEM display controllers provide versatile connection between analogue video sources and flat panel displays.
Trident has extended its range of LCD interface solutions by introducing new OEM display controllers providing versatile connection between analogue video sources and flat panel displays.
New CRT-to-LCD-6 and CRT-to-LCD-7 interface boards are the latest fruit of Trident's collaboration with Kontron, the specialist in industrial flat panel solutions.
The CRT-to-LCD-6 is a highly integrated TFT panel interface controller which makes it simple to output standard analogue video to TFT panels that have an LVDS interface.
Integration into OEM systems is simplified because only a single 12V DC power supply is required to generate the necessary voltages.
This includes power sequencing features and backlight support.
Other significant features include resolution up to UXGA 60Hz and compatibility with previous CRT-to-LCD products making it an ideal upgrade solution.
The CRT-to-LCD-7 extends these advantages by providing connection not only of standard analogue RGB signals, but also DVI or video sources to TFT flat panels.
As with the CRT-to-LCD6, it includes all the necessary functionality to design a full featured LCD monitor or LCD-TV.
All voltages are generated from a single 12V power supply, catering for power sequencing features and backlight support as well as the display itself.
Highest quality video is possible up to WUXGA including HDTV resolution, with full zoom and shrink facilities.
There is support for sync on green (SOG), as well as composite sync modes, and all colour depths are supported up to 24bit/pixel.
Its DVI input features high bandwidth digital content protection, and video input supports S-Video or composite video input in NTSC, Pal and Secam formats.
Also included is an infrared receiver for standard remote control.
Typical applications for the new interfaces include point of sale (POS), public TV, information screens (POI), gaming machines and industrial displays.
Trident can provide a complete range of kits supporting panel sizes from 6.5in VGA to 20.1in UXGA based on the interface cards.
