A new compact heavy duty thermal printer mechanism is designed for integration into outdoor applications.

Trident is introducing a new compact heavy duty thermal printer for use in outdoor locations With a wide operating temperature the new mechanism provides an ideal solution for unmanned applications such as ATMs, kiosks, POS, lottery systems, parking and ticketing machines, industrial and warehousing environments, chillers and cold rooms

The compact, high-speed, low noise, 24V CAP9347 from Seiko has dimensions of just 112 x 30 x 50mm, and has the ability to print to thick paper and card while achieving an active print width of up to 80mm.

The CAP9347 delivers a print rate of 250mm per second and a print resolution of 8 dot/mm.

With 640 dots per line this new mechanism enables a wider range of print features to be displayed such as logos, special characters and designs.

Seiko's CAP9347 is operational from -20 to +60C and offers a life span of 150 million pulses, an abrasion resistance of 150km and 1 million cutting cycles to guarantee reliability.

Trident also offers users of the CAP9347 the option of serial, parallel and USB interface boards.
